Visiting Jackson Hole usually means hiking, wildlife spotting, and exploring Grand Teton National Park. But what do you do when the weather doesn’t cooperate? On a cold, rainy day during our trip, we found ourselves scrambling for indoor activities for our two young kids — and we struck gold at the Teton County Recreation Center in Jackson, Wyoming!
For a small entrance fee, we gained access to hours of fun that kept our whole family entertained.

What You’ll Find at the Teton County Rec Center
Located right in the heart of downtown Jackson, the Teton County Recreation Center offers something for everyone:
🏊 A lap pool and a kids’ pool with two fun water slides
♨️ A hot tub, sauna, and steam room — perfect for warming up on a chilly day
🏀 A gym and basketball courts
🎮 A game room
🚿 Showers (bonus for full-time RVers like us!)
🧗 The highlight: an indoor rock climbing center with auto belays, ideal for beginners and experienced climbers alike
Our kids had a blast learning to climb with the auto belays — a safe and fun way to try rock climbing for the first time. The Rec Center truly saved the day, turning a dreary weather day into one of the most memorable parts of our Jackson trip.
